Davy Crockett
Davy Crockett is just a serial which aired on ABC in one-hour episodes to the Disneyland series. The show stars Fess Parker as frontiersman Davy Crockett along with Buddy Ebsen as his friend, George Russel.
The first few episodes of this sequential were edited together in the 1960s when the Disney program went into NBC whilst King of the Wild Frontier, the 1955 film Davy Crockett, also rebroadcast incolor. The show and film are known for its catchy theme song,"The Ballad of Davy Crockett". It had been filmed in colour at the Great Smoky Mountains National Park at Janss Conejo Ranch and Oconaluftee near the entry of Qualla Reservation at the Mountain Farm Museum.
The final two episodes were edited as the 1956 film Davy Crockett and the River Pirates. It was filmed at Cave in Rock, Illinois.
