Always put at risk by their company commander's incompetence, and disheartened by unworthy combat, appalled by the corruption of their South Vietnamese ally, the young men find a way. They're told that when they purposely lose a soccer match against a South Vietnamese teamthey could spend the remainder of their tour playing games behind those lines.
