Jennifer Jones plays Hazel Woods, a beautiful young English Gypsey girl who likes animals and in particular her animal fox. She is fiercely wanted by Jack Reddin (David Farrar) a fox searching squire who vies for her love as well as pursues her also after her marital relationship to the regional priest.
