The Beverly Hillbillies is a American situation comedy originally broadcast for nine seasons on CBS in 1962 to 1971, starring Buddy Ebsen, Irene Ryan, Donna Douglas, and Max Baer, Jr..
The show is all about a backwoods family transplanted to Beverly Hills after oil onto his or her territory. Even a Filmways production made by writer Paul Henning,'' it is the very first in a genre of"fish out of water" themed shows, and was followed closely with other Henning-inspired country-cousin show on CBS. In 1963, Henning introduced Petticoat Junction, and in 1965 he reversed the rags to wealth model for Green Acres. The way was paved by the series for afterwards apps such as McCloud, The Jeffersons, The Nanny, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, and Doc.
