Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal
Psi Factor: Chronicles of the Paranormal is a Canadian science fiction drama television series that broadcast 88 episodes over four seasons from 1996 to 2000. It was shot in and around Toronto, Ontario, Canada. The appearance of Dan Aykroyd opening and closing each episode, as well as underlining the validity of the organization it was inspired by, led some viewers to take the show more seriously than intended, despite the fact that it was a staged drama. Partly for this reason, the Committee for Skeptical Inquiry, then known as the Committee for the Scientific Investigation of Claims of the Paranormal, bestowed the "Snuffed Candle" award to Aykroyd in 1997 for "contributing to the public's lack of knowledge of scientific inquiry processes."
