Outrageous Fortune
Outrageous Fortune is a brand new Zealand television show, that ran July 2005 on 9 November 2010 around TV3. The show followed the lives of their career criminal West family after Cheryl, the matriarch, decided the household should go straight and follow law. The show Was Made by James Griffin and Rachel Lang and produced by South Pacific Pictures.
Like the show itself, their names were taken by episodes from Shakespeare quotations. The show concluded after 107 episodes and 6 seasons rendering it the longest running drama series made in New Zealand. The primary cast for the show's run Contained Frank Whitten, Antony Starr, Siobhan Marshall, Antonia Prebble, Robyn Malcolm and Kirk Torrance. Grant Bowler appeared in a sporadic role throughout the show's first five seasons.
The show premiered on 1-2 and has been welcomed by top acclaim. It gained a number of the big categories in the New Zealand television awards together with Malcolm's performance warmly recognised by many New Zealand reviewers, for the initial 4 years. Following the victory of the show, England and the United States accommodated Outrageous Fortune into their respective series, neither of which were revived after the introduction season.
