Amistad
To America, the slave ship Amistad place sail from Cuba in 1839. During the long trip, Cinque leads the slaves in a uprising. They are then held prisoner in Connecticut, and also their release becomes the topic of argument. Freed slave Theodore Joadson wants Cinque and others exonerated and recruits his case to be helped by property lawyer Roger Baldwin. John Quincy Adams becomes an ally.
